Sojourn: Seven Treasures Hand woven New Zealand wool cushion cover
Sojourn: Seven Treasures Hand woven New Zealand wool cushion cover
In homage to practitioners of motif and pattern in other artisan and cultural traditions, motifs have been translated into a textured self-stitched double cloth weave structure.
The Shippo Tsunagi (Seven Treasures) sashiko motif symbolises good fortune. Sashiko, meaning “little stabs”, is a Japanese stitch tradition originally practiced as mending by patching layers of cloth with tiny, precise running stitches.
Cushion backs are handwoven in a plain weave using the same yarns to quietly complement the textural cushion face fabric. After washing and steam pressing the cushions are constructed with a concealed zip, with care instructions inside.
